Rugby Union Club

Join one of the oldest rugby clubs in Australia. The club is in the Victorian Premier Division and has a strong coaching team that creates a learning environment suited to bringing the best out of experienced, new and emerging players.

Training Times

Pre-season.  Training occurs on Tuesday and Thursday evenings from 6.30- 8.30pm.  Please refer to webpage www.rugby.musa.net.au for training dates and venues.  Training will be a series of cross-training and rugby specific sessions as per training matrix.  Pre-season Royal Park Touch starts at 6.30pm in late October and runs through until mid February.

Season.  Training continues on Tuesday and Thursday evenings from 6.30- 8.30pm at HG Smith Oval, Macarthur Ave, Parkville (Melways Map 2B-A1).  Please refer to webpage www.melbourneunirugby.com for training dates and venues.
Competition Details

The club fields teams in the Victorian Rugby Unions Premier Division competitions (1st XV, 2nd XV, 3rd XV, Colts, and a "Gents" XV).  Games are generally on Saturday afternoons. The season draw and results are available at www.vicrugby.com.au.

The club will also participate in the recently developed Pillar Competition along with Northern, Ballarat University and Wyndham City as the NorthWest University Lions and hosted by Melbourne University Rugby Football Club.

The club also sends a team to the annual Australian University Games.

Melbourne University Rugby Football Club in conjunction with the University of Melbourne will co-host the Victorian Team to play in the Australian Rugby Championships for the next three years.

All fitness, rehab, skills and training sessions will take place at either Melbourne University Sport or Melbourne University Rugby Football Club.
