TaeKwon Do Club

Taekwondo, "the way of the foot and fist", is South Korea's national sport. Being the world's most practiced martial art, it has been featured in the Olympics since 2000. Melbourne University Taekwondo (MUTKD) follows the World Taekwondo Federation (WTF) under Cho's Taekwondo. Each training session combines an exciting mix of exercise, sport, combat techniques and self-defense, of which members of all levels (beginner to black belts) can take part in.

In the recent 2008 Unigames, MUTKD became the #1 University Club for TKD in Australia with an overwhelming victory. Being a competition-based club, we offer opportunities for any interested members to take part in various competitions (sparring and poomse) at the state and national levels. Many social events also take place throughout the year.

Rhee's Taekwondo is a smaller club run separately from MUTKD, and is based on the Master Rhee's philosophy of non-contact sport founded in Australia.
