Tim is responsible for the overall management of Melbourne University Sport (MUS) in the provision of fitness, sport & recreation, facilities and programs. Tim provides high-level advice to the University (via the Provost) and the MUS Board on the future development and management of sport & recreation at the University.
Tim is also responsible for the development and implementation of the MUS Strategic and Operational Plans. Tim's role includes overseeing the development and support of sporting Clubs in collaboration with the Melbourne University Sport Association (MUSA).
Tim represents the University to government agencies and national and state sporting bodies on matters pertaining to sport, fitness, recreation and physical activity.

Alex Affleck

Alex is responsible for MUS’ venue operations and commercial operations, including the health and fitness and aquatics operations. Alex manages the staff responsible for the performance of the Weightrooms, Group Fitness, Short Course, Aquatics and Ski Lodge profit centres and directly manages performance of the personal training, physiotherapy, exercise physiology and vending contracts. Alex also supervises staff responsible for the provision of Guest Services to MUS’ venues, and is directly responsible for the management and maintenance of MUS’ sports and recreation facilities.

Julie is responsible for incoming and outgoing correspondence, maintenance of central files, reception of visitors and general enquiries.

Jean-Luc Garlick

Jean-Luc is responsible for financial systems and processes, liaising with University finance and audit departments, finance system compliance, inventories, budget coordination and financial performance reporting.
Jean-Luc oversees Human Resource management including employment contracts and dispute resolution. Jean-Luc is responsible for IT services within the department covering desktop support, software management and networking. Jean-Luc also looks after EHS issues and ensures the department complies with relevant health and safety regulations as well as overall legal compliance on contractual concerns.

Sue Gielnik

Sue can assist both staff and the University of Melbourne’s sports clubs as to the requirements necessary for the prompt processing of financial transactions.
Sue may be contacted for the administration of Club subsidies, reconciliation and monitoring of all Club finances as well as the administration of Club HR and risk management issues.

James Garland

James is responsible for MUS’ communications both with its Membership base as well as the wider University community. In particular, James manages the MUS website as well as designing and coordinating all of MUS' internal and external publications.
