University staff can salary deduct and salary package their MUS Membership.
In 2009, two membership options are available:
1. Fitness Membership
2. Access Membership
1. Fitness Membership
The Fitness Membership is perfect if you like to mix up your training and do a variety of activities and provides great value for money. It provides:
- Unlimited use of the Strength & Fitness Gym.
- Fitness Analysis and Fitness Program.
- Unlimited access to Group Fitness classes (subject to maximum class numbers).
- Unlimited access to the Beaurepaire 25m heated lap pool.
- Access to Member rates for all other MUS services and facilities, such as court hire, physiotherapy and massage.
2. Access Membership
If you do not want to use the gym, pool, and group fitness facilities but are a regular user of the indoor courts, squash and tennis courts then you can pay the Access Fee to access Member rates for court hire, and other services. The Access Fee is valid for 12 months from the date of purchase and is non-transferable and non-refundable.
2009 Membership Terms & Conditions
Melbourne University Sport is a members'-only facility. Student rates are only available to currently enrolled University of Melbourne students, and proof of enrolment is required. All prices include GST except where indicated. All prices were correct at the time of printing. MUS reserves the right to amend prices. All Memberships are strictly non-refundable and non-transferable.
1. 12-Month Fitness Memberships (including Off-Peak Memberships) can be suspended without charge for a minimum of 2 weeks and up to a maximum of 8 weeks and include up to 3 Exercise Re-Programs and Fitness Assessments.
2. 10 Visit Group Fitness Passes cannot be used for entry into Yoga or Pilates classes. 10-Visit Passes are valid for 3 months from date of purchase while 20-Visit passes are valid for 6 months. 10-Visit Gym passes are only available from February 2009).Casual Passes are valid only on the day of purchase.
3. To maximise the safety of all clients, all users of the Strength & Fitness Gym must be “Authorised” before using any exercise equipment. Authorisation involves signing up and paying for an individual or group orientation and/or instruction in the use of the facilities (Exercise Program or Familiarisation) depending on the individual’s previous gym experience to ensure users meet set competency standards. 12-month and 9-month MUS memberships include the cost of an Exercise Program. 4-month memberships include the cost of a Familiarisation class. Membership cards will only be issued after completion of the mandatory Authorisation.
4. Authorisation bookings and Physiotherapy appointments must be made in person and paid for in advance.
5. Court hire bookings can only be made up to 2 weeks in advance. Payment must be made in person at least 24 hours before the booking. Same-day bookings must be made and paid for in-person. Cancellations and transfers require 24 hours’ notice. All bookings must be made at the Sports Centre Reception.
6. Lockers are only available at member rates to 12-month MUS Fitness Members. All other members can obtain lockers at non-Member rates. A $10 fully-refundable key deposit must be paid upon annual locker acquisition.
