Women’s Cricket Club named Best Administered Club

The Melbourne University Women’s Cricket Club was named Best Administered Club for 2008/08 at the Victorian Women’s Cricket Association’s recent awards night. In recognition of the club’s management, the VWCA will fund a club member’s enrolment in a future coaching course, and a Victorian Spirit player will be provided to assist with a club training session next season. |
Hamer helps Aussies to bronze medal

The University’s Chris Hamer (2nd year Engineering) helped the Australian men’s team to win the bronze medal at the 2008 World University Cross Country Championships in Mauquenchy, France last weekend. Chris, who won the individual Cross Country at last year’s Australian University Games, was the second Australian to finish in 13th place overall in France. more... |

The Melbourne University Sports Association’s annual dinner and sports awards were held at Telstra Dome last Thursday 3 April. The evening included the awarding of Blues for inter-university representation, emotive and inspirational audio-visual presentations, the announcement of the Lazer-Law medalist for 2008 and was capped off with a lively panel discussion by some of the University’s Olympic alumni.
