Queen's wins College Athletics

Strong performances from their mens and women’s teams saw Queen’s College win the 2007 Inter-Collegiate Sports Council Athletics Carnival at the Rawlinson Track last Sunday (01/04/07).

Queen’s won the carnival with a combined total of 400 points. St. Hilda’s were second with 353 points and Trinity was third with 278 points. Queen’s topped the women’s points scoring table with 217 points, while the Trinity men claimed victory with 187 points.

Michael Currie of Queen’s was the outstanding athletes of the carnival, winning gold medals in the 100m, 200m, 400, Long Jump and 4x400m Relay. Trinity’s Tim Hood won the 1500m/3000m double. St. Hilda’s Sophie Barker won the 800m/3000m double, while Leah Watts of Queen’s won the Long Jump and Triple Jump.
