Crow wins World Cup Gold

Kim Crow, RowingMelbourne University Boat Club’s Kim Crow teamed up with Sarah Cook to win gold for Australia at the Austrian World Cup yesterday (03/06/07) in the Pair.

In a surprise victory, Crow and Cook defeated more fancied crew from the United States, as well as the reigning Canadian World Champions. Melbourne University graduate Robyn Selby-Smith, rowing with Natalie Bale finished sixth in the A Final. MUBC’s Phoebe Stanley, rowing in her first Senior World Cup event, paired with Sonia Mills to place 3rd in the Pair’s B Final.

Crow and Cook also backed-up in the Women’s Eight where the crew finished in the fifth place. The crew also included MUBC’s Sarah Heard and Lizzie Patrick, and first year Melbourne University student Sarah Outhwaite. The next World Cup is being held in The Netherlands from 22 – 24 June.
