Over the past two weeks Melbourne University Baseball Club has had 6 current players in representative sides at various National Championships.

Ross Drinkwater and Casey Jones represented Victoria Provincial in the Australian Provincial Championships held in Perth. Jones pitched 9 innings for 6 strike outs and a handful of hits in the Semi-Final to get Victoria Provincial through to the Grand Final against NSW.

Josh Licence represented Victoria in the U23 National Championships in Geelong.

In the Women’s National Baseball Championships, Ursula Howard and Sarah Wong represented Victoria White. Vibeke Pedersen represented Victoria Blue and was a starting player in their thrilling 15-13 Championship win over NSW.

Club Head Coach and Life Member, Garry Bitmead, took up the role as head coach for Victoria Blue Women’s side this year, but was also head coach of the U16 Victoria Blue side who won their Championships in January.

Congratulations to the players and coaches on their efforts; a true reflection of the continuing depth and strength of the Melbourne University Baseball Club.
